My name is Nada Kommel. I am the owner and hands-on administrator of our three Clarendon Assisted Living homes in Woodland Hills, California. When I founded Clarendon twelve years ago, I wanted to create a small, warm, friendly assisted living environment that would extend far beyond meeting the basic needs of the frail elderly. I wanted to recreate my own European family environment, a loving one, where each individual is respected and honored, and where each person is provided the utmost privacy and dignity while living their life to the fullest. My goal was to create a place where my own wonderful parents would choose to live, should they need assisted living.

I know each Clarendon resident personally – including their medical, social, and family history and am familiar with the likes and dislikes of each person. I am happy to be able to provide a compassionate living environment where they can spend the rest of their lives in comfort. I love what I do.

Each person who resides at Clarendon is promised to be cared for with dignity, privacy and respect. We encourage people to bring their own favorite pieces of furniture, a quilt, pillows and memorabilia – anything to make their room their own. No one, no matter what age or state of mind, wishes to have their individuality taken from them.

At Clarendon, our mission is to continually honor every individual. We understand our residents have lived rich lives with friends and loved ones. They have stories to share and we listen with open ears. Our many daily activities are designed to help residents remain alert, happy, and vital. We are totally dedicated to taking great care of our residents and consider each person a member of the Clarendon family.

It’s not an easy task to find a facility for a family member who can no longer live alone or be cared for at home. It is probably one of the most difficult and emotional decisions anyone can make. I understand this, as does my staff, and we are here to support you.
