Clarendon Assisted Living is a state licensed board and care home facility. We offer elegant, quality home living to seniors who need help meeting their daily living needs. Nada Kommel, the owner and administrator, takes pride in her commitment to love and care for what she calls her "extended family. The residents of Clarendon feel the compassion and love for them.
Our Philosophy
Clarendon Assisted Living is a special place for anyone who needs assistance in daily living. Some residents can dress themselves, others need help. Some walk, others use wheelchairs. Some people enjoy helping to prepare meals, others need help to eat.
Our caregivers are trained to assist each individual with exactly the kind of care required on a daily basis. We assess each person in an ongoing manner because, as time passes, needs change.
At Clarendon, no one is left to feel helpless or alone, ever. Every resident has a voice, verbal or non-verbal, that is listened to and acted upon. At Clarendon we value communication as a cornerstone of our care. We promise to provide a warm, loving & caring, safe and healthy environment that enhances the quality of life for each resident.
Our Residents
Anyone who requires assistance in daily living is welcome at Clarendon, including those who are fully ambulatory and energetic, but whose family is afraid for them to live alone, residents who must stay in bed, people who require assistance for every act of daily living, and most situations in between. Our residents are mainly frail elderly. Clarendon is their home and a place to live the rest of their lives in comfort. Each day is designed to help residents remain alert, active, and happy.
Our Houses
Each of our three beautiful Clarendon homes is located in the quiet, upscale residential neighborhood of Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley. Each house was personally designed and decorated by Nada Kommel, the owner and administrator, and reflects her own home and European influence. Residents enjoy gathering in the living rooms for sitting, talking, reading or special programs such as parties, movies and live musical performances.
Beautiful outdoor patios and gardens invite residents and their guests to enjoy fresh air, smell the roses and other blooms and watch the many birds that visit. Meals of fresh, wholesome food are shared at the dining room table a ritual that people who live at Clarendon enjoy. Each home reflects a family and is the next best thing to living in one's own home.
